Dr. Wellborn will be presenting this seminar to the members of the Nashville Area Association of Christian Counselors.

Topic:
Many typical (but nonetheless disruptive) parenting challenges can be addressed within the individual adult therapy session without redirecting the focus of therapeutic work.  Dr. James Wellborn, author of Raising Teens in the 21st Century, will be providing information on a number of self-contained, generalizable parenting concepts and strategies your adult clients can use to resolve common parenting situations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to identify and apply 14 self-contained, generalizable parenting strategies adult clients can use to resolve a wide range of common parenting challenges
  • Participants will be familiar with the basics of effective praise, the elements of a successful family behavior contract and the components of a 3 tiered model of discipline
  • Participants will be able to translate practical, self-contained parenting strategies within their psychotherapy framework

Lunch (paid by attendee) at 11:30, presentation at 12:00
